A Look at Child Labor

            Benjamin Tasker Middle School

Introduction

Becoming a teenager is an exciting and fun period in one's life.  The teenage years are somewhat of a trial period on the path of becoming an adult.  Most teenagers deal with life's issues with the luxury of having their parents to support them if their decisions were not carefully planned.

Teenagers enter the workforce and begin to develop a sense of independence and responsibility.  In the United States, children are legally allowed to seek employment at the age of 14.  Unfortunately, children in other parts of the world are put to work at much younger ages and in unfit working conditions.  This week, we will take an in-depth look at the issue of child labor around the world.
