Animal Rights
Information Literacy Project

In our astronomy unit we have learned many different concepts that we have discussed and researched through our investigations. One discussion we all had our opinions on dealt with the use of animals in space research. (Remember the "Mice on Mars" article?)

These pages are set up to expose you to the different opinions that are posted on the web. The intent of the pages is to sway your opinion in a different direction or to solidify your current one with more facts.

After your response below, you will be directed to a page that will link you to some pages designed for kids. Browse through them and evaluate how well the authors of the pages make their opinion clear. How do they try to get you to change your opinion? Are they successful?

Before reading, do you feel animals should have the same rights as human beings? Should we use them in experimental testing? Why or why not? What personal connections can you make to the topic?

Explain:

*Make sure you include your name in the response so it can be returned to you after it is printed.
